You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could identify the mental blocks preventing us from reclaiming our personal power, will them to be gone, and then—poof!—instantly feel happy, joyful, and fulfilled? Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work that way. Reclaiming our personal power requires diligence, consistency and time. Every. Single. Day.
Think about how long it took you to develop your bad thinking habits, the thinking habits that keep you stuck in the muck of a mediocre life. Over the course of your lifetime, your brain has developed neural connections and pathways that facilitate these negative thinking patterns.
The good news is that your brain can be retrained. The not as good news is that it requires daily practice. Studies show it takes about 30-days to implement change, 60-days for that change to become routine, and 90-days to make it permanent. I think 90-days in exchange for a lifetime of happiness and fulfillment is well worth it, don’t you?
For those of you out there saying, “Yeah, I’d love to reclaim my personal power and live the magnificent life I was destined for, but I just don’t have time to add daily self-care practices to my routine and besides, that stuff doesn’t work for me,” well, that is—I’m sorry to say—just an excuse to protect you from failure and keep you locked into the mundane life you’ve grown comfortable living.
You have time, and if you want a wonderful life, you will find time! Find time and it can work for you!
Here are daily practices that will help you change the way your brain functions in order to reclaim your personal power and attract all that you desire:
Meditation: Slow down and breathe. Calm your mind, focus on your breathing, and silence the negative voices inside your head. Even just a few minutes of meditation is beneficial, and the longer you can invest, the better.
Exercise: Even if it means going for a 10-minute walk. Exercising boosts your energy level, relieves stress, and increases your body’s production of mood-boosting hormones, like serotonin and dopamine.
Positive affirmations or afformations: Repeating positive phrases and asking positive questions several times a day for an extended period of time is great way to retrain your brain to think more positively, which, in turn, attracts more positivity. Journal: Write about your day, the things for which you are grateful—big and small—or something you feel passionately about. Pen a poem, or delve into something that’s been on your mind. Through writing, we reveal a lot about ourselves and get a lot off our chest.

None of these daily practices require a significant investment of time—they are all simple changes, subtle shifts to help eliminate the negative habits you’ve developed over the years. If you can commit to implementing any or all of these recommendations for at least 90-days, you will absolutely change your life and take huge strides towards reclaiming your personal power.
